Taking them together can cause a significant and potentially life-threatening drop in blood pressure (hypotension), leading to dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke. It is contraindicated to use Cialis with nitrates or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrites).
2.Alpha-blockers (e.g., prazosin, terazosin, tamsulosin): Both Cialis and alpha-blockers relax blood vessels, which can lead to excessive blood pressure reduction when used together. This may result in dizziness, fainting, or orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing). If needed, your doctor may adjust the dosage or recommend spacing the medications.
3.Other antihypertensive drugs (e.g., atenolol, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril): Cialis can enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effects of these medications. While this interaction is usually less severe than with nitrates or alpha-blockers, it can still cause dizziness or fainting in sensitive individuals. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended.

Background:The use of cialis (tadalafil) in Canada is controversial. While there are currently no formal clinical studies assessing its impact on erectile function, there are several case reports of patients experiencing erectile dysfunction (ED) who are taking tadalafil to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). The aim of this study was to evaluate whether patients who have erectile dysfunction treated with tadalafil might benefit from cialis as a possible substitute for tadalafil.
Methods:Twenty male patients with erectile dysfunction (ED) treated with tadalafil (Teva, Cialis) for six months, at a dose of 50 mg daily, were included in this study. The patients were randomly assigned into two groups. Group 1 (N=10) received tadalafil (100 mg, 10 mg daily) alone or in combination with a tadalafil (10 mg) for six months. Group 2 (N=9) received tadalafil (10 mg, 20 mg daily) and cialis (10 mg, 20 mg daily) alone. All the patients were assessed with a visual analog scale (VAS) for erectile function, as well as a questionnaire for sexual satisfaction. The patients were then asked to stop the therapy.
Results:After 6 months, the mean VAS for ED patients was 5.9, and it was significantly higher (p<0.05) than for the patients in the other groups. However, the mean VAS for ED patients was not significantly different between the two groups, and it was not significantly different from the patients in the other two groups. The mean score on the VAS for ED patients was reduced from 3.8 on the first day of treatment to 2.7 on the second day. The VAS for ED patients was significantly lower than that of the patients in the other two groups.
Conclusions:The results of this study indicate that tadalafil may have a significant impact on ED in patients with ED, and that it should be considered as an alternative drug to tadalafil.
